I will stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
